Serious quantum 2 windows
Quick links. You will be helped! I am in the market to purchase windows. Needless to say I am long overdue. The efficiency aspects as well as the safety aspects draw me to making the purchase. I was originally looking to only replace the original windows 14 but was only given a price for 16 windows whick includes the 2 windows installed with the addition. If an anyone has any personal experience with this situation I would really appreciate your imput.
Thanks S. I have been in a senior management position with this plant for 20 years and have been in the industry now into my fifth decade. John Barker is our CFO and co-owner of the company and he has been with the plant for 10 years. He's also been in the building materials industry for 30 years including a stint for the parent company owner by the Snyder family in the 90's.
Not the window that the Hungtington or Quantum II, but the Kingston is a solid bet for an entry level offering. I will probably be replacing my windows so if you have any goods leads, I would appreciate it. Start here. Both of these brands are great. You may need to go to their websites and put in your information to see what local dealers are avialable.
Not all will have dealers in Kentucky, in fact I'm assuming most will not. But a google search for "Sunrise windows in [you city, state]" should bring up local companies who carry the brand. Call them up, get the bid, and compare. Feel free to shoot your bids over to me and I'm more than happy to provide you with my take on what you have. Of course he will gladly sell us the upgrade if we want it. Our house is just under sq.
We live in Michigan. He says the Kensington Huntington is not worth doing anymore because they have made so many improvements to the Kingston. He says the only way to the Huntington better is to put an upgraded heat mirror glass package in but at that point you might as well go with the Triple Pane Quantum II.
Will the Quantum II provide a lot more noise reduction? We will be in our house for at least the next years. What are your thoughts on all this? Thank you and I appreciate your time and valuable input. However, if I were going to be in my home another 20 years I might consider going with the Quantum II anyway.
Kensington makes very good windows, so both will definitely help with noise reduction over your old windows. Dane - Site Editor - from Kensington Kingston vs. Sunrise Standard Hi Dane! I have learned lots from your site! Replacing 24 windows in our house. Quote fairly similar from two different companies for Kingston and for Sunrise windows standard not essentials.
Which do you think is better? The Kingston is an excellent window for an entry level window, but it isn't quite as good as the Sunrise, which is quite a nice vinyl window.
All The Best. We wanted to replace our current wood windows with vinyl windows. I received a couple of quotes from installers in the Chicago area. They seem to be reputable installers based on reviews from Angie's list. It appears there are more Chicago installers who does Alside in particular the Mezzo line which I have read on your website there have been issue with this line, so not sure whether that has changed. Anyhow, I would appreciate any input you may have based on the quote I have received.
We have a total of 17 windows for replacement which includes: 11 double hung, 2 large transom approx. Both the interior and exterior of the frame we will stick to white. There are other color variation to choose from but that will increase the price per windows so we are sticking to white. I would say on the face of it that the Kingston series is the best deal.
The Alside Mezzo is not as good a window, but is a decent mid range vinyl window option and obviously for less money. The Marvin is expensive, and the Andersen is not worth the added expensive over the Kensington Kingston model in my opinion. If this were my project, I'd go back to the Kensington rep and tell him you like his window, but that it's out of your price range. If he could come close to the Alside bid, you'd be ready to sign the work order that day.
Then give him a few days to multiple over your prospect. I think he would come back with a better price and you would know what the floor is on his pricing. I will check with the Kensington installer to see if he can come down with the price. I didn't realize replacing windows can be so costly! Again thank you for your suggestions.
I took your suggestion and got a bid for the Softlite Imperial LS. Do you think it's worth the extra money to go with Softlite. I know based on your website reviews this is better quality than Alside Mezzo. If that's the case, then I'd go with the Alside Mezzo, which is a decent mid range window. Dane - Site Editor - from Kensington Bid Hi, we are in the Chicago area and looking to replace 15 windows, 1 slider and 14 double hung with 3 needing to be tempered. We are leaning towards the Insignia as it seems mid range and a decent deal for 3 panes windows, all the others are double pained.
Any advice? Joanna - Homeowner - from [Site Editor's Answer] Joanna, the Kensington series is a good deal for that price. I would see what they would charge for the or Hunginton series. If it's at the Insignia price or lower, this is what I would go with depending on the quality of the installation company. The Apex Insignia is a decent window and that price is certainly fair. Either one of these deals is solid, but I would certainly take some time to figure out which install company has the better rep and track record.
Tim - Site Editor - from Kensington hhp Kingston vs. We bought a house that needs replacement of 26 windows. The majority of the windows are double hung, with a few picture windows and 2 small sliders. Any thought regarding which window to go with, all things being equal? So I really like Kensington windows, the Kingston is their entry level window, but still better than the other two in my opinion. Ask him if he has access to the Williamsport or Huntington series, which I feel are a nice step up from the Kingston.
The Wincore is a decent middle of the road vinyl window, but again I prefer their step up model series. You can get away with a solid middle of the road vinyl window and be just fine with good installation.
Was wondering what the average price should be. Also they told me that Kensington windows were the sky mirror technology and most efficient. They did list other types like de pere, Fitchburg, and maple bluff windows. Could you educate me on those windows as well. Thank you for your advice and information. Their entry level series are okay, their mid range series are very solid and their premium series are top of the line. As to average prices, it's very tough to say since every project has 20 factors that dictates price -- especially with things like skylights and entry doors.
I was wondering if anyone had personal experience with these windows and can give me any advice. Re: Quantum 2 Windows 2 Post by Skydawggy. But, just in case you have already decided to purchase TP and won't be deterred by facts, the performance of the Quantum is nothing special. Most triple pane windows with krypton get a U-factor around.
Some windows with TP get as low as. Re: Quantum 2 Windows 3 Post by masterext » Sat Nov 13, pm quantuum is a well built window with good performance numers. This particular window is not a triple pane window, unless you consider the heat mirror as a "pane" I've read some people do. Anything more than that and I feel that I will not recoup that cost in energy bills.
Even at that price it will take a while. I haven't even looked at TP windows, I figured they are over kill for my area. I feel comfortable paying that for these windows but I'm open to suggestions. This is my first home and only lived here for a year so my window knowledge is limited to what I've learned from the net in the last few weeks.
Thanks for your help! Re: Quantum 2 Windows 5 Post by masterext » Sat Nov 13, pm you are not just paying for a quality window but a quality install with a quality company. Re: Quantum 2 Windows 6 Post by Skydawggy. Didn't they only promise that price if you "buy today? I consider heat mirror a TP window.
The only difference is it uses mylar between the panes instead of glass. Heck, the Okna comes in with a U-factor of. I think it makes much more sense to spend the difference on new energy efficient doors and more attic insulation than to spend it all on windows. But that's just my opinion.
